Nonprofit Spotlight: The Legal Project
The Big Bethlehem Yard Sale is proud to support local non-profits and charities actively working to enhance our community!
About The Legal Project
The Legal Project provides free civil legal services and representation to people who are survivors of domestic violence, veterans, small business owners, people facing foreclosure and senior citizens in 11 counties across New York State.
Our Mission
The Legal Project provides access to the protections of the law to advance the safety, stability and independence of the people we serve and strengthen our communities. We do this by advising, advocating for and representing people who have traditionally had difficulty obtaining civil legal assistance.
Our Values
The Legal Project believes:
1) All people should have access to legal services. We feel a special commitment to people who have traditionally had difficulty in obtaining legal assistance, including the working poor, women, immigrants and the LGBTQ community.
2) Fostering collaborative relationships within the community is essential to serving the whole person, inspiring the legal profession’s commitment to pro bono, and raising awareness about the importance of civil legal services in protecting people’s basic rights.
3) Our communities are stronger and more economically vital when people are safe, stable and independent.
Our Vision
We envision a world where all people have access to justice and equal protection under the law.

On Saturday, May 3, 2025 get ready for the Big Bethlehem Yard Sale. We’ve partnered with dozens of non-profit organizations to bring you a new community tradition and help you Clear Your Clutter for a Good Cause.
Register online to have your yard sale promoted on the yard sale map, then pledge the first $20 (or more) of your sales to your favorite registered non-profit, such as the The Legal Project!
Non-Profit Involvement
Are you involved with a local non-profit? What better way to raise funds than to encourage the community to clear their clutter and donate proceeds to your organization? It’s a win-win for everyone!
There is no cost to register to be on the roster of non-profit organizations who can receive funds. Last year’s event raised over $3500 for 16 local nonprofits and charities!
